Cat Illnesses - Feline Diabetes
Feline diabetes is one of the cat illnesses that has no known cause. However genetics, poor diet and obesity are all thought to be contributing factors.
A cat suffering from feline diabetes will have one or more of the following common symptoms: thirst, copious urine, weight loss, vomiting, blindness and fur loss.
As with a lot of cat problems, treatment of feline diabetes is not to cure it, but to control it. A vet will advise on the best course of action which will likely involve dietary control and daily insulin doses for the cat. Female cats should be spayed.
