Cat Illnesses - Intestinal Parasites
There are lots of cat illnesses caused by intestinal parasites, and there are lots of intestinal parasites. Some of the more common ones are coccidia, giardia, hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, threadworms, toxoplasmosis and whipworms.
Tapeworm is the only one of these cat illnesses that can be seen without performing a close examination of the cat's faeces. It appears as white seed-like particles around the cat's anus. All the other intestinal parasites will require a vet to diagnose.
There is no such thing as a universal dewormer, so a vet will recommend the most appropriate treatment for the cat.
